Advanced Computational Electromagnetics 3D Parallel (ACE3P)
Parallel finite-element electromagnetics for accelerator designACE3P is a parallel finite-element multiphysics simulation suite with integrated electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical modeling. It runs on massively parallel computers, giving large simulations high accuracy and faster time to solution.
Seven solvers, one finite-element framework
Each ACE3P module solves a different part of the accelerator problem on the same unstructured tetrahedral mesh, so a cavity can go from eigenmodes to wakefields, multipacting and thermal load without rebuilding the model.

From cavity design to beam dynamics
ACE3P covers the electromagnetic and multiphysics questions that come up across the life of an accelerator structure.
Eigenmodes and S-parameters
Accelerating and higher-order modes, Q and damping in lossy materials, and the scattering matrix of couplers, windows and loads.
Wakefields and impedance
Time-domain transients and wakefields with a moving window for short bunches and broadband pulses.
Multipacting and dark current

Mesh, simulate, analyze
- PreprocessBuild the geometry and tetrahedral mesh in Cubit.
- SimulateRun ACE3P modules on Perlmutter, alone or chained in parameter sweeps and optimizations with LUME-ACE3P.
- Post-processExtract figures of merit with acdtool and visualize fields in ParaView.
